Wallet Recovery Guide
Rumble Wallet currently supports Bitcoin (BTC), Tether Global (USDT), Tether US (USAT), and Tether Gold (XAUT). If you need to access unsupported tokens sent to your wallet address, or if you need to manage your funds outside of the Rumble Wallet app, you can import your secret phrase into an external Ethereum-compatible wallet.
This guide applies when you:
- Received ERC-20 tokens (such as ETH or other tokens) to your Rumble Wallet address that aren't displayed in the app
- Need to access your funds through a different wallet application
- Want to manage your tokens on additional networks (Arbitrum, Polygon)
Before you begin
Rumble Wallet is non-custodial, meaning only you control your funds through your secret phrase. Before proceeding:
- Never share your secret phrase with anyone.
- Store your secret phrase in a secure offline location (written on paper, in a safe or safe deposit box).
- Your secret phrase grants full access to your funds — treat it like cash.
- Do not take screenshots of your secret phrase on shared devices. Write it down on paper or use a secure password manager.
If you already have your 12-word secret phrase written down, skip to Step 2: Choose an external wallet.
Step 1: Export your secret phrase from Rumble Wallet
If you still have access to the Rumble Wallet app but don't have your secret phrase saved:
- Open the Rumble Wallet app and sign in to your account.
- Tap the Profile icon to open Settings.

- Select Secret Phrase.

- Follow the prompts to reveal your secret phrase.

- Copy or write down your secret phrase and store it securely.
For more on managing your secret phrase, see the Secret Phrase FAQ and the Security Guide.
Step 2: Choose an external wallet
You can use any Ethereum-compatible wallet that supports BIP-44 secret phrase import. Popular options include:
| Wallet | Platform | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| MetaMask | Browser extension, mobile | Most widely used Ethereum wallet |
| Trust Wallet | Mobile (iOS, Android) | Multi-chain support |
| Phantom | Browser extension, mobile | Multi-chain support |
All of these wallets are free to download and use.
Step 3: Import your secret phrase
Using MetaMask
- Download MetaMask from metamask.io or your device's app store.
- Open MetaMask and select I have an existing wallet.

- Select Import using Secret Recovery Phrase.

- Enter your 12-word secret phrase from Step 1.

- Set a password for MetaMask (this password is local to the MetaMask app).

- Complete the setup.

Your Rumble Wallet's main account address will appear as Account 1 in MetaMask.
Using Trust Wallet
- Download Trust Wallet from your device's app store.

- Open the app and tap the wallet selector at the top of the screen.

- Select Add Wallet.

- Select Add existing wallet.

- Choose Secret phrase and tap Continue.

- Enter your 12-word secret phrase.

- Complete the setup.
Your Rumble Wallet's main account address will now be accessible in Trust Wallet.
Importing your secret phrase does not move your funds. Both Rumble Wallet and the external wallet access the same blockchain address. Any tokens sent to your address will be visible in both wallets.
Step 4: View and manage your tokens
Once imported, your external wallet will display your ETH balance and any ERC-20 tokens at your main wallet address. If a token doesn't appear automatically, you can add it manually using its contract address.

Token contract addresses
USDT (Tether Global)
| Network | Contract address |
|---|---|
| Ethereum | 0xdAC17F958D2ee523a2206206994597C13D831ec7 |
| Arbitrum | 0xFd086bC7CD5C481DCC9C85ebE478A1C0b69FCbb9 |
| Polygon | 0xc2132D05D31c914a87C6611C10748AEb04B58e8F |
XAUT (Tether Gold)
| Network | Contract address |
|---|---|
| Ethereum | 0x68749665FF8D2d112Fa859AA293F07A622782F38 |
You can recover any ERC-20 token by adding its contract address to your external wallet using the steps above.
Step 5: Add additional networks
After importing your secret phrase, your external wallet will default to the Ethereum network. To view tokens held on Arbitrum or Polygon, you need to add those networks to your wallet.
- MetaMask: See How to add a custom network RPC
- Trust Wallet: See How to add a custom network on Trust Wallet
Accessing Tip Jar funds
Rumble Wallet uses separate derived addresses for Tip Jars. When you import your secret phrase into an external wallet, only your main wallet address (derivation index 0) is shown by default.
| Wallet type | Derivation index |
|---|---|
| Main account | 0 (shown by default) |
| User Tip Jar | 10 |
| Channel Tip Jar | 100 and above (sequential) |
To access Tip Jar funds in MetaMask, you need to add accounts sequentially by selecting Add account or hardware wallet > + Ethereum account until you reach the correct index. Each new account increments the index by one (Account 1 = index 0, Account 2 = index 1, and so on). For the User Tip Jar at index 10, you would need to add 10 additional accounts.
Rumble Wallet uses the standard Ethereum BIP-44 derivation path: m/44'/60'/0'/0/x, where x is the address index. This path is compatible with MetaMask, Trust Wallet, and other standard Ethereum wallets.
Frequently asked questions
Is this safe?
Yes, as long as you keep your secret phrase secure and only download wallet apps from official sources (app stores or the wallet's official website).
Will this affect my Rumble Wallet?
No. Importing your secret phrase into an external wallet does not change anything in your Rumble Wallet. Both wallets access the same blockchain address, and tokens sent to that address will appear in both.
What network does Rumble Wallet use?
Rumble Wallet uses Ethereum (EVM) networks. The derivation path is m/44'/60'/0'/0/x, which is the standard Ethereum path compatible with MetaMask, Trust Wallet, and most other Ethereum wallets.
Which addresses are used by Tip Jars?
Rumble Wallet uses the following addresses for Tip Jars:
- User Tip Jar — 10
- Channel Tip Jar — Starting from 100, increased sequentially
Do I need to pay gas fees?
Yes. Sending tokens on Ethereum (or Arbitrum/Polygon) requires a small amount of the network's native token (ETH on Ethereum and Arbitrum, POL on Polygon) to cover transaction fees (gas).
